The world is going to hell in a handbasket, but wait.........maybe there's still hope.
In Beijing tonight, a Chinese-proposed deal may help bring a breakthrough on the problem of North Korea's nuclear programme.
Representatives from six nations are meeting for another round of negotiations, and in the run up to the talks diplomats had tried to water down expectations of any breakthrough.
Now they're discussing a draft deal which reportedly involves North Korea closing down nuclear weapons facilities over the next two months.
The international Quartet on the Middle East said Friday the pending new Palestinian unity government must renounce violence and recognize Israel if it wants to be part of regional peace efforts. Quartet members conferred by telephone on the Saudi-brokered Palestinian reconciliation accord reached late Thursday in Mecca. VOA's David Gollust reports from the State Department.
Blog MyyyyyAsssss is optimistic with North Korea, but sadly there has been no progress with the Middle East situation and it probably will never resolve itself until they all kill eachother off. The same was thought about Ireland and we were wrong with that one, but .........
