The Truth Be Known - Your Guess As Good As Mine
Captured Taliban official Mohammad Hanif is
spilling his guts. He's pointing his finger at Pakistan as being a supporter of the Taliban despite the denial of
President Pervez Musharraf.
Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesman Tashim Aslam has cast doubt on the allegation saying,
"We don't know under what circumstances the so-called spokesman of the Taliban, who is under Afghan detention, made this statement and we don't know the circumstances under which this statement has been extracted from him."
"This is totally baseless."
Pakistan's interior minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao has denied the claim that Taliban leader Mullah Mohammed Omar is living in Quetta and stated, "We have no information on the whereabouts of Mullah Omar. He is not living in Pakistan."
Muhammad Hanif's capture and his interrogation is covered at
Captains Quarters.
