This Is Just Stupid

The Daily Telegraph ran the following story about Bush's Secret Plan.
Looks like it isn't much of a secret any more. One wonders about individuals that would leak a thing that was of such importance ie: saving the life of government agents out in the field. Then again, one has to wonder if selling newspapers is more important to big business than keeping the world safe.
Is it just me or do you ever stop and wonder how photographers manage to be present when certain things happen? Forgive my negativety - I just finished watching the Mel Gibson movie 'Conspiracy Theory'. I think I've watched it three or four times now and as Gibson's character Jerry Fletcher would say, "I'm sorry".

CIA gets the go-ahead to take on Hizbollah

The Central Intelligence Agency has been authorised to take covert action against Hizbollah as part of a secret plan by President George W. Bush to help the Lebanese government prevent the spread of Iranian influence. Senators and congressmen have been briefed on the classified "non-lethal presidential finding" that allows the CIA to provide financial and logistical support to the prime minister, Fouad Siniora.
The finding was signed by Mr Bush before Christmas after discussions between his aides and Saudi Arabian officials. Details of its existence, known only to a small circle of White House officials, intelligence officials and members of Congress, have been passed to The Daily Telegraph.

Leaking government information is nothing new and certainly not limited to newspapers and unhappy staffers:

WASHINGTON:
Former White House aide I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby goes on trial Tuesday over the administration's response to one critic who questioned assertions President George W. Bush made four years ago to justify waging war against Iraq.
Once the right-hand man to Vice President Dick Cheney, Libby faces charges of perjury and obstruction of an investigation into the leak of a CIA officer's identity to reporters.
