An Educator Gets An Education
Shiraz Dossa, a political science professor at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, N.S., raised the ire of his university when he recently attended the Iranian conference, the conference that supported the theory that the Holocaust never took place.
Guests at the conference included Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke and Iran's president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who addressed the event and predicted Israel will one day be "wiped out."
Dossa is
striking back at his university saying the university is failing to defend his academic freedom. He insists he used the forum to talk about how the Holocaust plays into the so-called war on terror.
A letter signed by 105 of his fellow professors (50% of the faculty) stated they were "profoundly embarrassed" by Dossa's trip to Iran.
This whole matter could have easily been dealt with by Immigration refusing this guy entry back into Canada. Dossa must be an educated man and he should know that any 'paper' presented to the head of the KKK and Iran's president would fall on deaf ears and his presence in Iran only gave these idiots credibility.
