World Aids Day
The federal government today pledged to spend an extra $120 million as part of its long-awaited HIV/AIDS initiative package.
International Co-operation Minister Josee Verner chose World AIDS Day
make the announcement in Montreal on Friday.
Although overall Canadian infection rates have stabilized in recent years, thousands of people still contract the virus, Ken Monteith, director of AIDS Community Care in Montreal, said Thursday.
