How's Your Drink? Can I Pour You Another?

Ontario’s justice system is undermining police efforts to crack down on impaired drivers who kill scores of people in the province every year, OPP Commissioner Julian Fantino said today.
'All too often the guilty get off, the behaviour is reinforced and offenders go unpunished, very often undeterred and continue to re-offend,' Fantino told a gathering for his official commissioning.
Fantino has made it known that his No. 1 priority as the new commissioner is to crack down on speeders, and drunk and careless drivers in an effort to make Ontario roads safer, but a close second is to crack down on child pornography and exploitation.
The former Toronto police chief said he will be 'demanding accountability' of the justice system and we will be reminding the lawmakers and those who operate the system that impaired driving is a serious criminal offence.
'The leading cause of criminal death in this country is not murder, it’s drunk driving and we need to deal with that,' he said.

Mothers Against Drunk Drivers tells us that on average just under 4 Canadians are killed every day and just under 190 Canadians are injured each day with approximately 70,000 Canadians impacted by impaired drivers annually.
