This Tring To Be Politically Correct Thingie
MONTREAL - The Montreal police department says it was just trying to be culturally sensitive. Now it's accused of being sexist.
A suggestion that female police officers call in a male colleague sometimes to accommodate ultra-orthodox Jews has sparked a furor in Montreal.
Detractors say that in trying to respect religious minority rights, they're violating the rights of 1,200 female officers.
I don't know about you but I'm really getting sick and tired of everybody trying to be politically correct. Case in point the Montreal Police. Some senior officer posted a directive telling female officers to step aside and let the male officers do the talking when dealing with Jewish folks.
