More On The New Browsers

One of the things a webmaster has to do is ensure that his pages work in all browsers and for that reason I have several browsers loaded on my machine.

I downloaded the new Firefox browser the other day and ran into a problem. In the previous version I was able to toggle back and forth between browsers, but Firefox2 doesn't seem to want to let you do that. It all has to do with making your browser "the default browser".

After scrambling around fruitlessly for some time searching through various settings, I was informed by a participant of one of the newsgroups I read that the fix was simple.

There are freeware programs that do this for you it seems, but the easiest way is to go into "Control Panel", click on "Add/Remove", then click on "Set Program Access & Defaults".

Now I can toggle back and forth again.
