I'm all excited because the exercise bike I ordered is going to arrive on Thursday, about two weeks earlier than I expected. My ass is celebrating. Finally I'll be able to work out for a full hour and not end up walking like Tom Cruise after a weekend at an all-male Scientology retreat.
On the other hand, I'm mad. In California, you can get used gym bikes for damn near nothing. How come none of that stuff is available in Florida? We're vain too! Obviously, we're not wearing out our gym equipment the way they do. So I guess we're a bunch of big lazy yuca-eating fatasses. And the net result is, I had to pay a load of cash for a new bike. But I really needed this thing. I can't get away from these damn cookbooks; my deadline for a first draft is in December, so I'm sure I'll have to cook during the next two months. And while I'm strong enough to stay on a diet when I'm not doing a cookbook, no man alive could resist sampling the kind of food I make. Reducing calories is going to be nearly impossible for a while, so my only hope is a serious boost in energy output. |
