There's no joy in the olympic village for Canadian men's hockey team members as the Swiss team beat them soundly in what many considered a game that was supposed to be a warm-up for tougher opponents.The 2-1 victory for Switzerland is its first ever win against Canada in international competition.

The American team had to settle for a tie with Latvia when they squandered their 2-0 lead and had to rely on a third period goal to tie the game. This was only the Latvians' third appearance in the Olympics.
