A Spyware Removal Tool - But Use Carefully
One of the many tools I use to check for and to remove spyware from my 'puter is A-Squared by
EmsisoftI highly recommend this freeware, but I caution you on its use as it could get you in a pickle if not used correctly. It happened to me because I was in a hurry one evening and it was late and I was tired - I failed to backup my registry prior to using this app.
When A Squared finished running I clicked to remove the offending items without realizing two were registry items. The registry items that I deleted were needed so my machine could access the internet and when I rebooted, I could not get on the internet. Fortunately for me, I had another registry set backed up and I was able to grab the necessary items from it.
If you would like to try this app before installing it on your machine you can run it online from the A Squared homepage. If you decide to use this app in your spyware toolchest, you'll need to keep the def's updated just like your anti-virus program.
