Helping Out A Friend
I have a lot of friends in law enforcement having worked in Ontario jails for so many years. God knows how many fine men and women I have had the privledge of working alongside. I've also supervised thousands upon thousands of offenders in that time - some were the worst sob's you'd ever wanna meet and others were people just like you or me who did something stupid and want to put "their time" behind them.
One jail guard I keep up with, some call them correctional officers, is a fellow that goes way back with me to where I first started in Corrections. We chat on the pc all the time and he keeps me up on jail news. It's great that I can keep up with who is getting married, who is getting divorced (something that happens a lot to people in law enforcement), and who is moving on in their lives.
Jimbo and I worked on a couple of jail web pages together and one is still going strong. The new webmaster has modified the site to his liking - we're funny about that, you know. But the site's content is the same - it is about stopping the privatization of Ontario's jails.
Jimbo asked me to spread the word that the attached petition needs to be signed and sent in as a major decision is pending about privatization. Do me a favour and visit Jimbo's site and download the petition and mail it in. You can save it and e-mail it to Jimbo, if you prefer.
