Multiculturalism Sucks The Big One
Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary:
Main Entry: mul-ti-cul-tur-al
Function: adjective - of, relating to, reflecting, or adapted to diverse cultures
In my way of thinking, if someone from another country moves to Canada then that someone should learn our language and become part of our way of life. Should that person's culture come into conflict with the Canadian culture, then the Canadian culture should take priority.
Likewise, if I moved to Arizona I would not wear a toque to an Arizona State football game.
Ever since Pierre Elliot Trudeau, Canada has been taking it up the ass from foreigners dictating what they should be allowed to do or think here in Canada. I don't like this one bit.
If some cracker from Arizona joins the RCMP then I think it behooves the guy to wear the RCMP uniform. There's no way he should be able to wear a
Wyatt Earp-type hat while riding in a parade. I know, a poor example, but you know where I'm going with this.
One Hand Clapping posts about an American school that practiced discrimination because of a group of visitors to its country that treats their women as secondhand citizens.
I'm thinking that both the school administrators and the visitors should be made to wear toques to an Arizona State football game to make up for this act of discrimination - that'll teach the sob's.
You figure this kind of post makes me a racist? Sorry - I'm just a guy that figures always trying to be 'politically correct' is what's fucking up this world we live in. You know it too, but your sense of 'what's right' won't let you say it.
So you get a bunch of people immigrating to your country. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that family speaking their language while they are within their home and I think it's wonderful that they have the ability to speak that language. But I also think it is their responsibility to learn my language if they wish to live in my country. Hell, I'd learn Arizonian if I moved there! And if their culture dictated they conduct themselves contrary to Canadian culture, like honour killings or wearing a turban every hour of the day, then I'd suggest they move right on back to their own country as they obviously don't wanna be Canadian.
There you have it. My take on being Canadian, or Arizonian or whatever. Now having said all that I gotta go - there's a family from Maine visiting down the road and I'm off to tease the little nine-year old and hurl insults at the kid's parents if I see them. Geez - who the hell let them into the country?
