Talk About A Difficult Job

I used to live next door to a cop. Kevin was an OPP officer and one hell of a nice neighbor. While we weren't the closest of friends, we'd always stop and gab any time we came upon eachother.
Kevin could never understand how I was able to function working in the jail system, being right in there with them without a weapon. Likewise, I could never understand how he could do what he did for a living.
We all know that when we are in a building and the shit hits the fan we all bail out. Not cops - that's the time when they all head in!
I don't know about you but I'm not equipped to deal with bankrobbers brandishing uzzis. Cops go running into banks with these crazy gunmen foaming at the mouth and the cops sometimes get shot.

I've got nothing but respect for cops.

Unfortunately, a lot of people hate cops. Its mostly the criminal element, but some of the folks at the lower end of the economic scale fall into this bracket as well. Some of these folks feel that they are being oppressed by the police, but that's probably due to their lack of education and their economic status. Let's face it, most crime does not take place in the swanky neighborhoods.
As a correctional officer, I seldom had to use force in the performance of my duties. And never did I have to employ deadly force. A police officer wears a gun on his belt and is trained to use it. Some cops never have to draw their gun in their whole career. Others do.

What follows is a story written by a cop about a cop that drew his gun and had to use deadly force.
