You Call This Justice

I worked in Corrections for 23 years and I've seen a lot of low-life scum dressed in orange jumpsuits. Don't get me wrong, all the prisoners I've seen coming and going were not low-life scum. I've had to deal with regular folk like you and I. Someone can end up behind bars for a multitude of reasons, all of which can scoop you out of your normal daily activities into a jail jumpsuit.
I worked in jails and a detention centre where those charged are held until the courts find them guilty or release them back to society.
I just finished reading Bound By Gravity which didn't really shock me, but it will you hopefully. Canada's justice system is totally screwed up and needs to be changed.
There was a time in Canada that we hung murderers. That certainly stopped an individual from re-offending.
Nowadays, Canada gives murderers short sentences in prison. While in prison these murderers laugh at the system and learn new trades - criminal trades.
