And Even More on Leadership

George W. Bush knows about leadership. He is the President of The United States. He leads a pretty large nation!
You might not like George and God knows that there are millions that don't. I do, and I'll tell you why.
George W. Bush I'll not refer to him as Junior as so many do, tongue in cheek. It's not that I'm afraid that secret service guys might appear at my front door either. They don't scare me at all. Bin Laden doesn't scare me, Dalton McGuinty doesn't scare me, Premier Calvert of Saskatchewan doesn't scare me. I can safely say that the only person I'm afraid of is my wife.
George Bush is the leader of a nation that right now is the most powerful nation that ever existed on this earth. Pretty good for a bunch of immigrants from the Old World, eh. George, as part of his Presidential duties, took an oath when he was elected, then re-elected as President.

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

There you have it. George took the above oath and what it says pretty much defends everything he says or does. Granted, he's been known to have said some pretty silly stuff from time to time. His comments to a certain CBC reporter about the Canadian Prime Minister comes to mind. I attribute that blunder to his support staff not keeping him updated. Also, in the scheme of world matters, Canada has not been that great an example for others to follow. Ex Prime Minister Chretien does have a legacy, of course, as does Brian Mulrooney, Pierre Trudeau, John Diefenbaker and a bunch of others.
Who can forget the helicopter boondogle; Canada's Multiculturism Policy; the Avro Arrow Programme being demolished; and a host of other legacies left for Canadians to weep over.

George, if I was American you'd get my vote. I like a man who calls a spade a spade and forgets about who may not like what you have to say. If it wasn't important, why would you want to say it! If you felt you had to softcoat it, why would you say it in the first place!
Keep up the good work George. Good luck with your task ahead of cleaning up all the terrorists of the world. It's a major task, for sure, and probably one that will go on for years to come long after you and I have moved on to another world where all the good Presidents, Prime Ministers and Webmasters go once their time is up. At least I can thank my lucky stars that Jean Chretien won't be there to bother us.
