I'm Confused.............but that happens a lot

God I'm full - we just ate up all the perch from the freezer. The food is rolling around inside me and I'm back on the net reading about The Middle East.
Go to The Middle East Media Research Institute and click on "Subjects" then scroll down for the item about offering Europe a cease fire. Now apparently this is directly from Bin Laden himself.
Over and over our buddy here insists that his is the better way, or as he says, "As for those who lie to people and say that we hate freedom and kill for the sake of killing – reality proves that we are the speakers of truth and they lie, because the killing of the Russians took place only after their invasion of Afghanistan and Chechnya; the killing of the Europeans took place only after the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan; the killing of the Americans in the Battle of New York took place only after their support for the Jews in Palestine and their invasion of the Arabian Peninsula; their killing in Somalia happened only after Operation Restore Hope. We restored [i.e. repelled] them without hope, by the grace of Allah."
In the material there and elsewhere on this site, our pal Bin Laden quotes the Koran left, right and center. But what confuses me is how something as sacred as the Koran can equate killing Westerners as being 'the right thing to do'. I know that my Holy Bible says, "Thou shalt not kill." and I've kept my end up on that so far in life.
Actually, my older brother is the one that got educated in our family and I never saw the inside of a university except the one time in Hamilton when I crashed a dance and the time in London where I did the same. So.......what the hell is going on here? It's gotta be that old Bin Laden is full of shit, or all those priests and nuns in my schooling were having me on.

Please, someone explain this to me!

Special Note: Anyone wearing a funny lookin' sword, wearing a turban, or muttering 'JihadMmmmmyasssss' will be summarily shot dead in my driveway. I just write this stuff so dont f*&K with me!

On a brighter note: I just chatted with Reeve Ken Noland on Messenger - you may have heard of him as Ken Nolang, the guy that broke the heart of Toots Bigtree. Ken advises that his neighbor who is teaching English in Thailand is okay. Apparently he returned to the coast from some inland villages in the jungle and only then found out about the Tsunami. Never got his name from Ken, but locals here must know of whom I speak.

Lesson to be learned here: Every now and then you should take a walk in the jungle. You just never know.
