Mother Nature Demonstrates Her Wrath

by POKO on Jan 1st, 2005 12:19 PM

You have heard, no doubt, of the terrible devastation and loss of life going on in the area of the Indian Ocean. I can't imagine what has been seen and experienced by those who have managed to survive this terrible 'force of nature'. The nightly news continues to report more and more people dead or missing.
Relief efforts are ongoing from several different sources, but the main problem they are experiencing is getting to those needing help. Obviously it will be some time before roads are cleared and repaired. Air drops and helicopter seem the only way to reach these people.
I haven't heard or read that Britain, Australian and American naval fleets are on route, but I certainly hope that the leaders of these countries have ordered just that.
Update: - the links below have shown that the US has helicopters in the area.
